Privacy policy

What we collect
- Account information (only if you register): your name and email address.
- Newsletter subscriptions: email address, the page from which you subscribed, your IP address, and a truncated user-agent string — used to prevent abuse and de-duplicate signups.
- Server logs: standard Nginx access logs (IP, timestamp, requested URL, user-agent) retained for 14 days for security and abuse-detection purposes.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: when you submit any form, your browser exchanges a token with Cloudflare to verify you're not a bot. Cloudflare may set its own cookies; we do not receive personal data from this exchange.
What we don't collect
- We do not run third-party analytics that track you across sites (no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Hotjar). Aggregate traffic information comes from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is anonymous and cookie-less.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with marketers.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies — a session cookie when you sign in, a CSRF token cookie for form security, and Cloudflare's own security cookies on the proxy edge. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies of our own.
Advertising
Some pages display banner advertisements served by our sibling property
banners.adsclk.com. These banners do not set personalisation cookies on this site; they
are uploaded creatives matched to the page section, not behavioural targeting.
How long we keep data
- Account information: until you ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected].
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you click the unsubscribe link in any issue.
- Server logs: 14 days, then auto-rotated and deleted by logrotate.
- Backups: 30 days, then auto-pruned.
Your rights
You can ask us to (a) tell you what data we hold on you, (b) correct it, or (c) delete it. Email [email protected] from the address on file and we'll respond within 14 days.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we collect or use data, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change. For substantive changes (new third-party services, new categories of data), we'll also announce it in the newsletter and via a banner on the homepage for 30 days.
